The first democratic transition of power? I don’t know why they say that Pakistan underwent its first democratic transition of power when newly elected parliamentarians of the 14th National Assembly took the oath. Because the previous assembly also came after a democratically elected assembly. What more we can expect from a democratic assembly t he session as well as the oath-taking ceremony was marred by a two-hour delay after the scheduled time of 10 am. The delay was due to Nawaz Sharif, who was engaged in meeting with newly elected MNA’s of PMLN. The outgoing Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza administered the oath to 301 newly elected MNAs. She is the second speaker who has been elected again as member National Assembly after Gohar Ayyub. Poverty, Education and Floods in Pakistan We hear the problem of poverty in the country but many of us have not seen it by themselves as I did. It is a different experience to see how poor our fellows are. One feels sorry for them and also tries to help them because of their need. I want to tell my recent experience of the poverty situation in the country. I was part of a government survey team to make a report on the damages done by the rain & floods. I live in the city area as many of us living in; it was my first experience to visit any backward area. I have seen houses made of mud but never went in them. We were asked to see how many houses are damaged.T he damage was categorized as partial and complete. Cricket, Spot Fixing, Match Fixing The case is with Scotland Yard and every one knows that they use scientific method to spot the crime. I am certain that they will do it professionally and perfectly this time also. I can not say any thing about the roll of ECB in investigation because I am not expert. But one thing is sure that they will have a close look on the issue. As after the Chairman PCB alleged their player they are also doubtful about their own player. One of our friends told us about the generosity of Robin Hood and the other discussed the heroics of King Robert Bruce.
