Illegal water connections and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Sindh government is taking strict action on illegal water connections in Karachi .Illegality is a big problem in our country every one try to take any advantage which he can take whether it is legal or not. I think a person can save only hundred or something more than it if he has an illegal connection but he is using it. Some peoples think that if they can save this money by escaping little payments they can have peace of mind. But in my opinion if they pay what they should they have more peace of mind.
The other side of picture shows that if they try to save money by having illegal water connections (for instance) one day or the other the government will get them and they will have to pay then and it will be a handsome amount almost equal to the amount they have saved. Or some times any person who search people like this finds them then they have to pay some bribe to save themselves and if they are caught once then they have to pay monthly or the person who caught the culprit will tell his friends who take bribe turn by turn,
This is the problem in most of the big cities of Pakistan like Karachi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Peshawar. I think that government in Peshawar once started an action against illegal water connection but to no avail. The government is increasing the burden of taxes on the poor people but not trying anything to improve its system of collecting taxes and revenues.
It is obligatory on government to derive any system to monitor the use of water, especially in the big cities. because in big cities like Peshawar (I have no knowledge about other cities) if a person using one liter of water in whole month or using one hundred gallons every day have to pay the same amount. I heard that in some cities there are water meters which show the use of water.
I strongly appeal to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to kindly install these meters in this province .I know how roughly we use this facility and how callously we waste water. I heard that in Islamic injunctions we are forbidden to waste water even sitting on the river bank.
