What should a wicket keeper do?
When a batsman completes a half century or century he raises his bat. No one ever thought that a bowler when takes five wickets in an innings or ten wickets in a match what should he do but Glen McGrath was the first bowler who start raising ball when he completes fifer. Now many bowlers are doing this.
Pulling out and raising wickets is a routine, when a team wins. But it will be a routine soon that when bowler completes fifer he will raise the ball. You will be thinking that why I am talking about raising the ball if my topic is about WICKETKEEPER that is because this question raised in my mind when in an ashes test a bowler took fifer and commentators start talking about this practice started by McGrath.
Only one thing which I think a wicketkeeper can do is raising the ball which he catches five times in an innings. also this can be done by fieldsman if he takes five catches.
I was playing in a match as a wicketkeeper when I got fifth catch on the last ball of the match. As this was the last ball of the match and we also won the match I raised my keeping glow with the help of wicket. When we came out of the ground one of my friend asked me that why I was raising my glow. I just as a joke answered him that because I got five catches.
Despite of all the above happening I am still thinking what a wicketkeeper should do?
