Parliament lodges and education in graveyards
Opposition leader Chodhery Nisar Ahmed wrote letter to PM Gillani about unnecessary construction of additional parliament lodges. But the government says that we will see the situation after we receive the letter.
I think the parliamentarian, who have millions of billions of banks account, will live in these lodges but where are they living now (may be on roads). If they have no serious problem now as I think they have then why the government of people is wasting huge amount on this project (as stated by opposition leader).
I don’t know why the government wants to take blame on itself as they have already spent more than half of their time and it seems probable that they have to quit sooner or later. If it is the need of time, what were they doing in the past three years? Even if it is the need let it be done by next government.
The Poor quality of existing learning environment is evident from the fact that a large number of schools are missing basic infrastructure i.e. 37.7% schools up to elementary level are without boundary wall, 33.9% without drinking water facility, 37% without latrines and around 60% schools are without electricity. For higher accessibility of education particularly for girls in low income household and to enhance the enrolment, existing schools should be upgrade with the provision of necessary infrastructure to improve both output and quality of education (economic survey report 2010).
Islamabad the capital of Pakistan has 8 schools Without Electricity, 50 Without Latrine, 7Without Drinking Water, 15 Without Boundary Wall and they want to build lodges. (NEMIS 2008-09 AEPAM, M o E)
Students are getting education in graveyards even. I heard this in GEO News a school in Peshawar in which children are getting education in graveyard and a school in mosque (janazah gah). Some months ago we heard almost the same story about a school in Islamabad or may be of Rawalpindi where students were in a Janazah Gah and some one gave them free building for school.
I think it is the time to choose one lodges or schools
